Once you have been in the scene for several months, it's important to be a good kinkster in the kink community.  Take pride in yourself & maintain a positive reputation.  The Kink community is a tight knit community who stands up for each other.  We talk like 2 old dish women!  We can pick out the abusers & weed them out of the community quickly, so maintaining a good reputation is essential.  Being a responsible bottom ensures that you will remain a member of the Kink community.  Those kink things that we do require & demand trust, safety, and consent, so it's so important to be a good responsible bottom.
